1. What is Mode Basketball?

Mode Basketball is an innovative NFT trading card game built on the Mode Network. It allows users to assemble their own team of basketball-themed NFTs and compete against 3 skill levels of computer based teams in exciting virtual matches to earn Skill tokens.

2. How do I play Mode Basketball?

To play Mode Basketball, you need to own a team of three NFTs representing the guard, forward, and center positions. Each NFT has unique stats and abilities that impact gameplay. Simply choose the rookie team, starter team or the all-star computer team to battle against.

3. How can I acquire the required NFTs?

The NFTs can be acquired through the NFT sales held prior to the game launch. The sales will occur in three stages: guards, forwards, and centers. You can purchase each of the required 3 NFTs for 10 USDC token each. The NFTs will be sold in stages and each of the 3 positions (Guard, Forward & Center) will have a limit of 1000 NFTs each, so 3,000 NFTs total.

4. What are the all-star gold player NFTs?

During the NFT sales, there is a 10% chance of minting an all-star gold player NFT with significantly enhanced stats. These rare NFTs are more powerful and can give you a competitive edge in the game. Owners of all-star gold player NFTs can choose to keep them or sell them on supported NFT platforms.

5. What is the Skill token and how can I use it?

The Skill token is a utility token within the Mode Basketball ecosystem. It can be used to level up your NFTs, making them stronger and more formidable on the court. Additionally, Skill tokens can be earned through gameplay or purchased from supported exchanges.

6. How will Skill ($Skill) tokens be distributed?

A total of 10 million Skill tokens will be minted, with half allocated as rewards for gameplay, 30% used for liquidity pool creation with USDC tokens, and 20% designated for marketing and prizes. Skill tokens will be distributed to users based on their in-game achievements and participation. There will only be a total of 2 million Skill tokens released per game season and 10 million total Skill token. All the Skill tokens used to upgrade player NFTs will be burned. This provides the Skill token a solid use case and makes it deflationary in nature.

7. Can I swap my basketball-themed NFTs for baseball-themed ones in time?

Yes! After the completion of season 2, there are plans to release a baseball-style game as an expansion. Owners of basketball-themed NFTs will have the option to swap them for two baseball-themed NFTs. The final Skill ($Skill) tokens will be minted and distributed for the baseball games 2 seasons.

8. What is the entry barrier to participate in Mode Basketball?

The entry barrier to enjoy Mode Basketball is relatively low compared to other NFT projects. To play, you need to acquire the three required NFTs, which will cost a combined 30 USDC tokens during the NFT sales. We aim to make the game accessible to as many users as possible.

No, Mode Basketball is not licensed by the NBA or any of its players or unions. The NFT art will all be uniquely designed and almost cartoon themed, think Space Jam meets NBA Jam.
