The Skill token is the native utility token of the Mode Basketball game, serving two primary purposes. Firstly, it is used to reward users through gameplay. Players will be rewarded with Skill tokens for winning matches against computer AI teams.

The second purpose of the Skill token is to facilitate the upgrading of NFT player cards. Skill tokens can be invested in upgrading the attributes and skills of the NFT player cards, enhancing their performance on the virtual basketball court. The Skill token provides players with the opportunity to improve their team's capabilities and increase their chances of victory.

In addition to these core functionalities, the Mode Basketball team has future plans to create liquidity pools for the Skill token on platforms such as SwapMode.fi and potentially partner to explore staking options. These potential partnerships aim to provide Skill token holders with opportunities to earn additional incentive tokens as rewards. While these discussions are on the roadmap, it is important to note that they are not confirmed at this stage and will be pursued diligently by the team.

As the project progresses and the Skill token contract is released on the Mode Network, more details about staking options, partnerships, and the potential incentives for Skill token holders will be provided. All Skill tokens used for NFT upgrades will be permanently burned from circulation, contributing to the deflationary nature of the token.
